COMPETITION INFORMATION

Each company is allowed up to three (3) drivers for the competition. You must complete the registration forms including a Driver Biography Form for each driver. Email completed forms to [email protected] as early as possible. Entry deadline is April 17, 2024.

For each company entering drivers in the competition, we ask that you provide a company representative to participate as a judge or work at the competition.

Drivers will compete and accumulate points in three categories to compile a final score: Written exam, Truck Inspection and Challenge Course. The Course will include nine (9) challenges, visual truck inspection and the egg break, basketball and golf fun challenges. The rules for the drivers during competition are: 1) Must wear seat belt. 2) Must remain seated while driving. 3) Head must remain inside the cab at all times. 4) No cell phones allowed in the cab. 5) No communication allowed with anyone other than judges while on the challenge course. There will be a separate waiting area for drivers away from the challenge course. The trucks for the competition will be automatic, rear discharge trucks.

Study materials for the exam are available through LCA and will be provided once drivers are registered for the event.

Awards will be given for 1st Place ($500), 2nd Place ($300) and 3rd Place ($200). The 1st place winner (if an employee of a NRMCA member company) will go on to represent Louisiana at the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s National Driver Championship in Aurora, CO on October 12-14, 2024. LCA will pay up to $1,800 in travel expenses for the winner to go to the National Championship.

For the NRMCA National Championship, all entrants must be current employees of NRMCA member companies. If a State Association Champion is not an NRMCA member, either his/her company may join mid-year allowing them to compete, or the State Association may forward application(s) for their 2nd and/or 3rd place winners to compete.

LCA reserves the right to change, adjust scoring criteria, add or delete challenges from the Mixer Driver Championship from year to year.

LCA has a block of rooms for Sunday, April 28th. Please call (800) 642-7777 to make your reservations and refer to our group code COA28GR. The cut-off date to make reservations is April 17th. A credit card guarantee equal to the first night's charge for each accommodation is due with each reservation. The deposit becomes non-refundable if the guest does not arrive, or cancels less than forty-eight (48) hours prior to arrival.

Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to arrival to avoid a cancellation penalty.
